Web 2.0 style is not a dry and boring virtual brochure. You need to have interaction. You need to provide value to your visitors whether they buy from you or not.  Value can be added through information.

If they are more informed after leaving your site then you have provided value and they will remember you. There are 15 billion, or so, sites on the web .  What makes you stand out? VALUE.

Now, if you can do this, while building your site to show in LOCAL Searches Done or by Pay Per Clicks Ads which can be very localized, then you are on your way to success.

There are many ways to be on the web.  If a local search is done in your area, you want to come up numerous times on page 1. We have clients that show up as many as 10 times on page 1 of Google for the key words of their profession. Yes it is possible, NO it is not easy.

Many people sell Books, Tapes, Seminars or Do-It-Yourself Internet Marketing. Many people by these various Books, Tapes, etc.  Don’t get me wrong, a lot of the info is good. But FEW achieve results.

Can you change your own oil?  … Sure … Do you want to get dirty and do it?  NO, you pay someone who is a PROFESSIONAL. Out sourcing is the key reason that our culture is moving forward from us all being farmers.

I know I am happy to pay others to create my food.

Find the right company, honest professionals, not your friend or cousin down the street and get your business on the map.

Get a PLAN to get your business to obtain LOCAL search domination.

Good luck and as Jim Rohn says “the same wind blows on us all” so don’t make excuses, succeed in this down economy.

    I agree with the need to be in as many local returns as possible. I also see that according to ComScore, that when it comes to Local Searches, Google is not the power that it is in general searches.

    What is your opinion on Internet Yellow Page sites, i.e. local.com, Dexknows.com, Superpages.com?

    I do know that it is important to have strong back links to sites when optimizing. What value do do you place on this or is this something you do in your optimizing strategy?

    Thanks. In consulting 100′s of doctors I have yet to find one that talks about success from these online yellow pages that you asked about.

    Anyone worth using for google adwords can out perform these online yellowpages by 10x easy. We did that with a client in Minn. who was using dexknows by about 20x out performed them.

    Most of those directories are over loaded with sponsored ads that actually cost the advertiser paying them for the listing to not get clicked. SO the click thru rate is super low although they can boost high impressions.

    So I would say Run Forrest Run! Hire a company that is only looking out for you not an online yellow page model.
