Wholefoods and Starbucks do social networking DO YOU?
Written by on July 20, 2010 in Chiropractic Marketing, Local Search, Social Media
I got an email from starbucks today.
Look at the AMOUNT of social media marketing they do:
They want you to check them out on Youtube, Facebook and Twitter (to friend or follow them so ALL your friends hear about them too!
Or you can click the email to SHARE that with a friend.
How does this affect chiropractic marketing?
Then do here is a coupon for WHOLEFOODS.
This email went to starbucks email list promoting wholefoods… hmm sounds like a smart idea.
Do you have a patient that has a good local email list?
Team up promote to each others lists!
These ideas are tried and true.
It is not whether they work or not it is whether you do them or not.
Someone will.

While this is a good lesson about networking in the social media, there is a bit of a canundrum; while in these two examples (Starbuck’s and Whole Foods) likely have a dedicated person/staff whose function is to run these networks, most D.. offices do not. Maintaining a high profile on social networks requires a very focused, well thought out plan it seems and while everyone who is in business can see the value, it is difficult to do. How then, can you suggest a step-by-step plan of incorporating this part of the marketing strategy? We would all like to know the answer to that one. Many thanks for the alert!

Dr Mike – that is a great point. It can be time consuming and as a professional I do recommend that others hire a professional for help. But using the right tools and consistency even if only a few minutes per day can go a long way. I recommend semi-automation but NOT full automation type tools.

Chiropractors have to start considering Social Media and the internet as a viable Marketing source and investing the time as such. Although time consuming as networking may be, it really comes down to what Dr. Matt said. It’s all about consistency and procedures. Building Social Networking procedures into your day and consistently doing them will reduce your time and increase your success. Don’t look at Social Networking as sitting on a computer all day tweeting.
There are some awesome programs out there that allow you to schedule your updates, thus allowing you to function throughout the day. Marketing takes time and Social Media is only going to get bigger and more relevant.
Ok, that got me going. Thanks for the awesome work doc.
